_ The 2021 Beer and Chili Run/Walk:

Dear Friends,

First, let us extend our warm wishes to you all.  These have certainly been trying times for everyone.  We hope good luck and good health have been on your side.  At this point, very few of us have escaped the sorrow that comes with loss due to this pandemic.  Please know- our hearts are with you.

This year marks the 37th running of the Kuyahoora Kicker Running Club's fabled Beer and Chili Run/ Walk.  Like so many of our favorite events, the 2021 Beer and Chili will look significantly different.  We have finally kicked 2020 to the curb.  However, we don't appear to be "out of the woods" when it comes to defeating this awful virus.  With that said, this doesn't seem like the best time to be gathering over 200 happy, shouting, breathing people into one room.  Therefore, this year's Beer and Chili will be a virtual event. 

There is a very frustrating Catch-22 at work here.  Of course we need to use good judgment and keep people as safe as possible,  yet doing so diminishes our ability to help some folks who could really use a hand right now.   Typically, the Beer and Chili manages to raise well over $5000 each year for our local food pantries.  With the changes in the event's format, hitting these totals is certainly more challenging. 

However...we're talking about the running community where anything is possible!   You're already here considering this event and you probably have a couple of friends who'd be willing to join in the fun.  So go ahead.  Take the plunge.  Have a little fun while helping out some people in need.   

We're not too proud to beg here.   PLEASE consider taking one (or many) of the following steps: 

Step 1- Use RunSignUp to "register" for the 2021 Beer and Chili.  If you are able, please consider donating a little more using the <donate> option in the tools bar.

Step 2- Call a friend, bundle up and go for a little winter run or walk.

Step 3- When you return home, crack open a beverage and heat up a bowl of chili.

Step 4- Take a clever selfie of the fun you are having.  Post your little virtual B & C adventure on your favorite social media.  Encourage everyone you know to do the same.
