_ The 2021 MMTA Crush Run Half Marathon, 5K & 1.5 Mile Kids Run:

Welcome to the Crush Run to benefit the Meeks Mountain Trail Alliance. Join us on Saturday, February 13th for the first ever Crush Run Trail Half Marathon, 5k and Kids Run. All proceeds go to support further development and maintenance of the Meeks Mountain Trails.  

Race details

Packet pickup begins at 7:00 am on Saturday, February 13th at Hurricane City Park's big red barn. Bathrooms are available in the park.

All races begin in the bowl. Race volunteers will direct participants safely across the railroad tracks to the bowl.  You will cross active train tracks so beware and be careful.

Porta Pots will be available at the start and finish line.

We're expecting a wave start with waves rolling out 5 minutes apart, and wave assignments will be on the back of the timing bib. Everyone should be ready to run at their specific race time. 

Water only aid stations are available on the course. The 5k and kids run will have one aid station and the half marathon will have three.

Safety

Please be prepared to follow local Covid-19 safety guidelines including, but not limited to, face coverings at packet pick up, start/finish area and at aid stations. Please maintain physical distancing.  If you have an Covid-19 like symptoms please stay home. If you race organizers recognize that you have Covid-19 like symptoms you will be asked to leave the race area. 

Safety and EMT will be on call for emergency situations. 

Swag and Finish Line

Every runner gets a MMTA Crush Run Buff, string pack, and finisher award.  Expect a finish line bon fire, marshmallows, Orange Crush, and a West Virginia original, pepperoni rolls.

Registration

Early registration pricing is $50 for the half marathon and $35 for the 5k. This pricing is available through January 13, 2021.  Between January 14th and February 7th, the Half Marathon price will increase to $60 and the 5k to $45. The kids run remains $10 up until race day.

Meeks Mountain Trail Sustainers receive a $5 discount on their race registration fee. Click here to join and become an MMTA Sustainer or join during race registration.  

Run with your Crush

Enter as a two person team and compete for the lowest overall time for the Half Marathon, 5k and Kids Run.  Pricing will remain the same as above.

Rules

Please keep our trails clean and do not litter.  If you take it on the trail, take it off the trail.  

The trails are open to all users during the race so beware of your surroundings and the hikers, runners, and mountain bikers that may come from ahead or behind of you.  Please, no headphones. 

Please be courteous and polite to all volunteers.

Be mindful of the current pandemic and be courteous to other runners and our community.
