_ The 2020 Kids Run Little Rock Youth Cross Country Camp:

Join Jennifer and Shawn Found for a week long cross country camp for middle school kids!  This camp is for kids interested in running and learning more about the sport of cross country!  This year's camp will be held at Christ Little Rock School utilizing the CLR campus grass fields and upper school property where we host our annual Little Rock Parochial League xc meet each fall.  The camp is for boys and girls entering 4th through 8th grade in the 2020-2021 school year.  Camp will be Monday, July 27th-Friday, July 31st in the evenings from 6:00 pm-7:30 pm.

Kids will learn the fundamentals of cross country running, including tips on different types of training, race day strategies and nutrition/hydration, and exercises to help the runners avoid injuries.  Each day will include a short lesson, a workout or relay, and fun, runner friendly games!  Our final evening of camp we will run a short time trial and cool off with some fun water activities!  Can you tell we like to put a lot of emphasis on having FUN?!

Each camper should bring a water bottle and towel to camp each day and wear comfortable, light weight athletic clothing and shoes for running.  

Jennifer and Shawn met in college while competing in cross country and track in the Big 8 Conference.  Jennifer is a graduate of Kansas State University and Shawn is a graduate of University of Colorado.  They both went on to compete post-collegiately, Jennifer as a sponsored athlete for Brooks, then Asics and Shawn as a member of the Army's World Class Athlete Program.  The highlight of Shawn's career was a 4th place finish at the 2000 Olympic Trials in the 10,000m.  Jennifer still competes as a Masters runner while coaching cross country and track at Christ Little Rock and Catholic High for Boys.  Shawn is an avid cyclist and a US Army Chaplain.  They have two boys, Elias and Asher.
