_ The 2020 Race Montana Triathlon:

The 14th Annual Race Montana Triathlon is scheduled for Sunday, August 2nd, 2020 at the Electric City Water Park in Great Falls, Montana.

The Race Montana Triathlon Olympic Distance event will start at 7:00 am.  The event will have a non-traditional swim of 500 meters in the Electric City Water Park 50 meter pool.  The Bike portion will be 24.4 miles with the first and last 5 miles being relatively flat.  The middle 14.4 miles involve a variety of short flats with plenty of elevation gains and downhills.  The run will be a fast and flat 6.2 miles.  If you do not want to compete in all three events, get some friends together and compete as a team.  The Adult Team Olymplc participants will be starting their race with the Adult Individual Olympic racers.

The Adult Sprint Triathlon will start  their event along with the Olympic distance athletes.  Athletes will enter the water based on their swim time (fastest to slowest).  The Adult Individual and Team Sprint Triathlon will include a 500 meter swim, a 12.2 mile bike and a 3.1 mile run. Once again, if you do not want to compete in all three events, that’s no problem. Find 1 or 2 other individuals and compete as a team.  The Adult Sprint Team Triathlon will start along side the Adult Sprint Individual racers.  Athletes enter the water based on their estimated swim time.

We will also have our "Try a Tri" event for adults who are interested in taking on the challenge of a swim, bike, run event but would prefer not competing in the Sprint Triathlon.  The "Try a Tri" features a 100 meter swim in the Electric City 50 meter pool, a 3 mile bike ride on a portion of the Rivers Edge Trail and a 1 mile run.  This event has the ideal distances to allow an individual the opportunity to give Triathlon a "Try" without having to complete the distances seen in a Sprint Triathlon.  The "Try a Tri" athletes will also enter the water based on swim time.  The event will get under way once the Olympic and Sprint athletes complete their swims.

Beginning at 9:00 a.m there will be two youth divisions - making it a great event for the entire family,. The Youth Triathlon Long course includes a 100 meter swim (2 pool lengths), a 3 mile bike; and a 1 mile run. The Youth Triathlon Short course will start at approximately 9:30 am and will include a 50 meter swim (1 pool length), a 1 mile bike; and a ½ mile run.

All race participants will be able to enter the ELECTRIC CITY WATER PARK FOR FREE from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm on race day.  Racers family members can enter the water park at the regular rate of admission.
