This Sprint Triatlon event is a 3k kayak, paddle board, canoe leg, a 20 k bicycle ride concluding with a 5k run. This will be a shot gun start at 8:30 am. The start and finish lines will be at Queen Anne Park, 210 E Water St. Edenton, NC 27932. Edentoin is a colonal town with many historic homes and buildings. In 1750 this town was 5 times larger than Charlotte. It was the home to singners of the Declaration of independence and U.S. Constitution as well as the site of the Edenton Tea Party.
Additional Information & Event Schedule:
The first leg will be the paddle event which will leave from Queen Anne creek into the Edenton harbor once the site of a naval Civil War battle, into the Albemarle Sound The largest fresh water sound in the US. You will return to the park where you will begin the bike event. You will leave down town and procede into the beuatiful farm land and plantations of Chowan County. The course will mostly be flat. You will retun to Queen Anne Park and run through the beautiful historic Hayes Plantation. The finish will be again at the Park. Get there at least one hour early to register and set up you bikes. There will be monitored bike racks. They will be guarded by Boy Scouts with pocket knives. We encourage you to bring your own hemuts, lifevests, bikes, kayaks, paddleboards or canoes.There will be a limited number of kayaks and life vests available to rent for 20.00 dollars.
