PARENTAL ASSISTANCE: One wristband will be provided at packet pickup for each participant. An adult who plans to assist their child in the transition area or on the run must wear this wristband on race day. Adults without a wristband will not be allowed into the transition area or on the run. This will be strictly enforced!
Parental assistance can consist of the following
Stand on pool deck for moral support
Escort from pool to transition area
Help child locate bike and put on clothing as needed.
Assist child to re-rack bike in the same location you started
Run with child on run course
YOUTH WITH AUTISM:
We are proud to offer a race specifically to youth affected by autism. If your child will be participating in our race we ask that they have a racing buddy that will participate with them through the race, this can be a parent, another relative, a friend, or a Rufus Racing buddy (local area triathletes and Ozark Center for Autism employees) if your child needs a racing buddy please contact Ruth at 214-872-6029 or email [email protected] youth will meet up with their racing buddys Friday evening 6PM at Schifferdecker park.
SPECTATORS: Race spectators not helping the children in the transition area (or on the run) should plan to watch the race from outside the course. We recommend bringing lawn chairs, sunblock, an umbrella, and snacks/water. We encourage spectators to arrive before 7:45am so they do not impede the participants and can get a great vantage point.
