_ The 2020 Battle for the Paddle:

Please join us May 2nd, 2020 for the return of the Battle for the Paddle Kayak, Canoe and Stand-up Paddle Board Race! This event will take place at Socastee Yacht Basin at 4229 Peachtree Road, Myrtle Beach, SC 29588. All participants will stage boats and gear at their assigned starting location. If renting boats and gear, it will be staged for you. Participants will be transported from Socastee Yacht Basin to their starting location immediately following race morning announcements. All race participants will receive a custom finisher’s medal and a dry bag for completing the event. Dry bags will only be guaranteed for those racers who register before April 18th, 2020. This event will feature both 10K and 5K Fun Paddle distances. Both events will end at the same location around the same time. After participants finish the race, Horry County Parks and Recreation will have lunch available for all participants.

Start Times:
10K Starts at 8:00am at Socastee Yacht Basin for transport to Peach Tree Landing, Paddling starts at 9:00am

5K Starts at 9:00am at Socastee Yacht Basin for Transport to Enterprise Landing, Paddling will start at 10:00am

Parking will be at the Socastee Yacht Basin, 4299 Peachtree Road, Myrtle Beach SC 29588

Packet Pick-Up/Late Registrations:
Friday, May 1st from 4:00pm-7:00pm at Carolina Forest Recreation Center, 2254 Carolina Forest Blvd., Myrtle Beach, SC 29579                                                                    

Saturday, May 2nd beginning at 7:00am at race site Socastee Yacht Basin, 4299 Peachtree Road, Myrtle Beach SC 29588

Paddle Course:
10K: Starts at Peach Tree Landing and ends at Socastee Yacht Basin

5K: Starts at Enterprise Landing and ends at Socastee Yacht Basin

Awards:
All participants completing the race will receive a custom finishers medal. Top three overall finishers for each distance and each category (Kayak, Canoe, Stand Up Paddleboard) will receive the medal and an additional prize.
