_ The 17th Annual Uwharrie Running Club's Turkey Trot 4.2-Mile Run:

Join the Uwharrie Running Club for the 17th Annual Turkey Trot 4.2-Mile Run on Thanksgiving morning.  The holiday tradition starts at 7:00 am at the YMCA park at 427 N. Street, Albemarle, NC 28001.

Start your day in the calorie deficit column by with some of the friendliest runners and walkers around.

On-line registration ends on Wednesday November 27th at 2:00 pm. You can still register on Thanksgiving morning at the Turkey Trot beginning at 6:00 am.

The run is free. Donations will be accepted for the Stanly Community Christian Ministry.  You can bring canned goods or non-perishable items for the Stanly County Christian Ministry Food Bank. This year's goal is to get 500 participants and collect 2,000 pounds of food and raise $1,000.00 for the SCCM Food Bank.

New this year, bring at least three canned goods/non-perishable items or make a monetary donation to the Stanly Community Christian Ministry and get your name in a drawing for great door prizes.  Here's what we have so far:

1- Two Turkeys - Donated by the Uwharrie Running Club.   2- Eight $20.00 gift certificates from Vac & Dash - Donated by Vac & Dash. 3- Two crocheted afghans donated by Avis Kinney. 4 - One Two-Layer Oreo Cake by Pineconefections
