_ The 2020 Norwich Splash and Dash- Youth Aquathon:  - CANCELLED

Norwich Splash and Dash will take place at Mohegan Park where youth will run-swim-run to the finish.  Age groups- *5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14; Additional SuperSprint distance added this year for ages 11-17 (optional). Everyone will receive a medal as they cross the finish line. Post race food and beverages will be provided at the Mohegan Park Center. Each participant will be required to purchase an annual USAT membership (if you are not already a member) for $10 which covers the whole year for any race. If you particpated in the Proud to DU It race- you do not need to pay the $10 again. It is a 1 X fee per year. Age group winners will be awarded trophies for the top three finishers in each age group (male/female) at the post race ceremony based on finish time. SuperSprint will award finishers for the top three male and female finishers overall. The SuperSprint is a longer distance race for those looking to go farther. 

Please note: 11-17 and Supersprint  participants will swim out further and not be able to touch the bottom. We will be launching waves in small groups to allow for ease of swimming.  Lifeguards will be along the route for safety and support. All 7-10 and 5-6 yr. old groups will be in an area where they can put their feet down to stop if necessary. If your child is nervous over their head, they are welcome to wear a lifejacket. No floaties.

Registration online deadline will be THURSDAY, June 11 at midnight. Deadline to get your name on the bib is MAY 26 at noon. Race day registration will be LIMITED  - it will be taken 7:30-8:15 AM only on race day. 

This event is part of the Triple Crown. The Proud to DU It- April 26 and Proud to TRI- Sept 12 are the other two events in the series.

Race clinic/walkthrough will be Wednesday, June 10th at 5:30-7:00 PM. Meet at the Park Center fountain at Mohegan Park. FREE- no pre-registration for the clinic required.

Packet pickup will be offered at 1) the race clinic, June 10th 5:00-6:30 PM 2) in the New London Recreation Office Thursday, June 11th 8:30-4:00 PM or 3) onsite race morning 7:30-8:30 AM. OPTIONS! If you want to avoid the line, pickup your race packet prior to race day BUT don't forget to bring your timing chip, bib and cap with you race day!
