_ The 2019 Brier Creek Trail-A-Thon ____ Friends of Nolin Lake:

The Friends of Nolin Lake present the Brier Creek Trail-A-Thon.  A four-mile trail race, hiking event, and mountain bike enduro time trial hosted to raise money for additional signage on the Brier Creek Trail System.  The event will begin at 8:00 AM with the Trail Run and will be followed by the Hike, and MTB Time Trial.  There will be a kids’ fun run following the Trail Run.

Proceeds from the Brier Creek Trail-A-Thon will help the Friends of Nolin Lake fund new signage on and will make Brier Creek safer for cyclists and hikers. Signage will include a map with “you are here” markers allowing for quicker exits for lost trail users and improved response times in the event of distressed trail users.

Times:

·         Registration – 7:30 AM

·         Run – 8:00 AM

·         Kids Fun Run – 9:30 AM

·         Hike – 10:00 AM

·         MTB Time Trial 1:00 PM

There is a base fee of $30 for the Run.  Hike and MTB Time Trial participants are encouraged to make a donation to this effort; t-shirts will be provided to participants who donate a minimum of $30.  The Kids Fun Run is free but a $10 donation is required for a T-Shirt.

Brier Creek Trail was built and is maintained through a partnership between The Southwest Kentucky Mountain Bike Association, Nolin Lake State Park, Friends of Nolin Lake, and the US Army Corps of Engineers.  Throughout the years, businesses and individuals have contributed of their time and finances to sustain this effort.  This event is a fundraiser to make Brier Creek Trail safer for users.
