_ The 2019 Bug Run 5K Run/Walk:
"A Harbor Fest Tradition"
Scenic, fairly flat course that includes a few gentle hills, shaded neighborhoods, a stretch along the water front, and the Armistice Foot Bridge across the Passagassawaukeag River; one water stop. Everyone is welcome to join from those looking to run a personal best to families wanting to share a healthy run/walk. Top female and male runners receive 20 lbs of live lobsters (“bugs”).
This event is the fourth of six events in the RunBelfast 2019 race series held in Belfast, Maine. You can register for each one individually or can sign up for all six at one reduced price! The series includes: Pendleton 5K + 5M on the Rail Trail - June 1; Paces for PAWS 5K and 1 Mile Family Walk - Jun 22; Rotary Kilted Canter 5K - Jul 20; Rotary Bug Run 5K - August 17; YMCA Pancake Triple Stack 1 Mile Kids' Run, 5K, and 10K - Sep 15; Rollie’s Run for Kids 5K - October 5. The RunBelfast Series is grateful for sponsorship from Damariscotta Bank & Trust and Journey to Health (MaineHealth).
Additional Information & Event Schedule:
When: Saturday, August 17, 2019, 8:30 a.m. start
Where: Parking lot at Union Street and Miller Street, Belfast, Maine
Race-day registration and Packet pick-up: Race day between 07:30-08:15 a.m.
Fee: $20 through August 14; $25 race day; $20 for active duty military; registration includes blueberry pancake breakfast compliments of the Belfast Harbor Fest; performance t-shirts are guaranteed for all runners who register by August 3; after that date, t-shirts are available while supplies last
Awards: Overall female and male receive 20 lbs of live lobsters (“bugs”); then top M & F in each of 9 age groups (pre-teen thru 80+)
