_ The 2019 Firecracker 5K and 2 mile walk:
Bring the entire family out for our annual 5K run and 2 mile walk in Highland Park, IL. The course layout starts runners in the beautiful tree covered Sunset Woods Park. Runners then travel through the streets of downtown Highland Park traveling toward Park Avenue beach for a picturesque view of Lake Michigan as they reach the lakefront, before they will be tested by a steep incline exiting the lakefront area. The final mile of the course is flat and fast as runners finish back at Sunset Woods where runners can recharge with refreshments before the post event celebration and awards.
