_ The 2019 Independence Day Triathlon:
A staple for the last 30 years, the Independence Day sprint duathlon & triathlon takes place at the beautiful Tradewinds Park located in Coconut Creek, Florida. On July 1st, athletes will compete in a fast and safe triathlon or duathlon. This Independence Day race is perfect for the new triathlete with a lake swim, traffic-less bike course, and a sidewalk run. Swimmers will start on the south end of the lake and finish on the north end. The lake is calm, with no current and minimal wake from other swimmers. Spectators can see the entire swim along the park path. As athletes exit the water, they will transition to their bikes for a fast and safe 10 mile bike ride through Tradewinds Park. Cyclists will enjoy this course because it is void of automobile traffic, giving them a chance to focus on their bike performance and safety. Cyclists will pass each other on the way back into transition. Runners will get to view Tradewinds Park from the paths around the lake in a 2 loop course. This is another great opportunity for spectators to cheer on their athletes. Picnic tables are plentiful for families and friends to gather at for a comfortable spectating experience, especially for older parents and children. There is also a playground to keep the young ones entertained. The Independence Day sprint duathlon and triathlon at Tradewinds Park is a great way to start the day with family and friends.
