The Sakatah Challenge – 5.6K Run/Walk, 10.5K Run and 11.6 mile ride are in the Sakatah State Park. This park is truly, one of Minnesota’s most beautiful parks. Join us for a fun day whether you are doing the 5.6K, 10.5K, or 11.6 mile.
The original 5.6k Challenge: The race that started it all! The first 1⁄4 mile takes you along the Sakatah Singing Hills State Trail before you dive off-road. The next mile and a half is a challenging yet beautiful off road trail through Sakatah’s old growth forest. You then loop back onto the Singing Hills trail finishing your run with views of Sakatah Lake off to your right. This is a timed event.
The 10.5k follows the road around Lake Sakatah. Just before the 4th mile the 10.5k goes off road for a 1⁄4 mile before connecting you with the Sakatah Singing Hills State Trail and dive deep into the heart of the park finishing the last leg of your run surrounded by the beautiful green forest. This is a timed event.
The 11.6 mile bike ride follows the road around Lake Sakatah then continues east up a long steady hill for the first 7 miles. Before looping back and connecting with the Sakatah Singing Hills State Trail. Helmets are required to ride in this event. This is not a race, official times will be given.
