The Matt Kjelland Memorial Run/Walk is a community event created to honor the life and memory of Matt Kjelland.  Matt was an incredible young man. He was a loyal friend, a loving son, and always quick to put others before himself. Help us honor and celebrate his life by participating in this Memorial event!

Details:

Who: All are welcome

What: Fun Run and Competitive Divisions available.  Alternate 1-Mile Walking Course I and a 1K Kids Fun Run are also part of the event.

Cost: $20/participant until Sept 17th online, $25 day of the race (ages 14 and under are FREE)  All registrants will receive a complimentary T-shirt as part of the registration fee.  You will be asked to select a shirt size during your registration (however shirt & size availability on registrations after 8/15 will be subject to availability).

Where: Alexandria City Park

Other: There will be a social time during and following the race. Food, prizes, auction, bean bags, and great fellowship!

Registration:  You may register online via this website, by mail by printing this form (Registration Form),  and sending it with your check to Mike Kjelland 4206 Heritage Ln NE Alexandria MN 56308 or the day of the race ($25).  Contact us for more information regarding paper registration.

Donations:  Donations to the event qualify as charitable contributions under the 501(c)(3) regulations.

Proceeds raised by the event will continue to fund a scholarship in Matt's name as well as other causes that Matt embraced during his life.  The first two $2,500 scholarships from the proceeds of last years race will be awarded at Awards Night at the Alexandria Area High School on June 5th, 2018. Other contributions were made to Discovery Middle School & Alexandria Area High School Food Shelf Programs, ATCC Mental Health(CAPS) Program and Fargo Moorhead & Alexandria Lyme Support Groups.

8am - 9am - Fellowship-Sharing Stories of Matt's Life - Prayer Service

8am - 9:30am - Race Registration

9:15am – 9:50am – Program – Speakers

10am – Race Starts

11am - Kid's Fun Run

11:30am – 12:30pm  - Awards Ceremony

During Race & After the race there will be a social time with Music, Kids Games, Silent Auction, concessions, etc.  Make it a fun family time celebrating Matt’s life and legacy.

Awards will be given in Male & Female categories for each of the age brackets below - 5k Run only (Run will be Chip Timed This Year by Pickle Events!!!)
