Duathlon : Run 3.1 Miles, Bike 56 Miles, Run 13.1 Miles |
_ The 2019 Rock N RollMan Duathlon:
The 56-mile bike is now a two loop through Bibb County, GA. Traffic is very light. The course is best described as rolling with no sever grades. While this is not the most difficult course around, it certainly is not the easiest. Water bottle hand offs are found at or near miles 19, 30 and 45. All turns are marked with pavement arrows and directional signs and volunteers/ police man each intersection.
The 13.1 mile run course is a multiple loop course with aids station every mile. A relative flat course with on one hill however it is hit multiple times.. Proper training and conditioning are keys to success on this run course. Aid stations are spaced out every mile and are fully stocked with salty snacks, Heed, Hammer Gel and Endurolyte tablets, and soda name a few.
An athlete briefing will be held at the event site on Friday September 28, 2018 at 5:00PM. This meeting will be held beneath the covered pavilion area and will last about 30-45 minutes. The meeting will go over all aspects of the event is great detail. Questions will be answered and are encouraged.
Additional briefing will be held on race morning in the cover pavilion at 6:30 AM
The 13.1 mile run course is a one loop course with 3 out and back sections. A rolling course with no serious climbs, it is the heat that makes this course difficult. Proper training and conditioning are keys to success on this run course. Aid stations are spaced out every mile and are fully stocked with salty snacks, Gatorade Endurance Formula, Hammer Gel and Endurolyte tablets, oranges, soda and ice cold towels to name a few items. Many sections of this course are closed to vehicular traffic.
