2012 Great Clermont Triathlon:

  • The Great Clernont Triathlon is one of the oldest triathlons in the country and marks the traditional beginning of the triathlon season.
  • This is the race you will be training all winter to be part of. No, the course is not flat, but it is suitable for all levels of participant.
  • Amenities include finisher's medal, a colorful event shirt, accurately measured and well monitored course. Post race food and refreshments. Registering by March 19th ensures proper t-shirt size.
  • Bring the family and stay the entire weekend. Clermont is very close to all of the Central Florida attractions.

    • Course Information:

    SWIM -
  • The 750 meter counter-clockwise triangular shaped course is in Lake Minneola. International distance participants will swim two laps.
  • Bring your wetsuit if you have one because the water temp is most likely make the swim USAT wetsuit legal.
  • Course Map

    BIKE -
  • The bike course travels counter-clockwise around Lake Minneola then turns up Jalarmy Road to Cherry Lake Road.
  • The Cherry Lake Road portion has rolling hills and that portion of the bike course is an out and back segment.
  • There are separate turnaround points on Wilson Lake Parkway for the short and International Distance courses.
  • Long course cyclists also have a turnaround point on Cherry Lake Road before returning to Lake Minneola.
  • Once at Lake Minneola cyclists proceed counter-clockwise around the lake to finish

    RUN -
  • The run course is a 5K out and back run on the South Lake Trail which the International Distance participants will do twice.

  • Clermont is located 20 minutes west of Orlando at the intersection of US HWY 27 and State Road 50.
  • From State Road 50 in Clermont, take East Avenue north one mile to Palm Avenue and the entrance to Waterfront Park.
  • Waterfront Park is on the southern shores of Lake Minneola.
  • The physical address for Waterfront Park is 330 3rd Street, Clermont, FL
