The annual Mill City Triathlon takes place every summer along the banks of the Merrimack River in historic Lowell, Massachusetts. This year’s race features both an Olympic and Sprint distance triathlon, Aquabike and 3-Person Relay events. Register Now!
Mill City Triathon course info:
SWIM
In 2018 the swim course will be the same as last year featuring an out and back swim from Rynne Beach. The first half of the swim will be against the current with the return being with the current.
SPRINT: 0.25 mile | OLYMPIC: 1 mile

Here are the turn by turn directions for the bike course:
The Olympic Race will complete two loops and the sprint race will complete one loop. Each loop will be 11 miles for a total of 22 miles for the Olympic and 11 miles for the sprint.

Here are the turn by turn directions for the run course:
The Olympic race will complete 2 loops and the sprint race will complete 1 loop. Each loop will be 3.1 miles for a total of 6.2 miles for the Olympic and 3.1 miles for the sprint.

Parking: There are a couple of parking lots along Pawtucket Boulevard on the river side. One is adjacent to the band stand area and the other one is on the right after the Rourke Bridge. In addition street parking is also available on the river side of Pawtucket Boulevard. Please arrive early for the best spots.
From the south: Take Rte 3 North, exit #32 take a sharp right at the end of the ramp, Drum Hill Road/Lowell exit. Burger King will be on the left, continue for 1 & ¼ miles and go over the Rourke Bridge, turn right onto 113 east, go 1 mile & the triathlon is on the right.
From the North: Take Rte. 3 South, Exit # 32, Go around the rotary and take Drum Hill Road/Lowell exit. Then proceed as per the above directions.
