_ The second annual Crystal Lake Aquathon will be taking place within the ideal confines of Three Oaks Recreational Center in Crystal Lake, IL. As the only aquathon in the state of Illinois, this race will offer 3 options:
Sprint Distance (500m swim, 5k run)
Olympic Distance (1 mile swim, 10k run)
2 Mile Swim Only
The swim portion takes place in a modified quarry (swim around 3 islands!) while the run is on a combination of trail, sand, and pavement (and even a bridge!). The finish line is on the beautiful beach of the Quarry Cable Park.
The after party is located at the Quarry Cable Park and includes post-race yoga, massage therapy, and compression/recovery boots. A delicious buffet will be provided by Duke’s on the Water and tasty beer will be available for purchase.
Prizes include a growler, howler, and pint glass for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place respectively to be filled with beer from our sponsor, Crystal Lake Brewing. Other swag includes an insulated tumbler as well as a finisher’s medal that doubles as a bottle opener!
