_ The 20th Biking with Beanzie:

Biking with Beanzie is a recreational ride presented by Kishwaukee Kiwanis Club of DeKalb and sponsored by Kishwaukee Community Hospital.The ride route consists of primarily flat rural roads with some rolling terrain with estimated ride options of 25, 46, 64, 80, or 101 miles. All roads are well-paved, lightly traveled and posted with signs containing ride information and bits of Beanzie humor. This year also includes 3-mile, 5-mile, & 8-mile community bicycle pathway route options. 

A. Beanzie Road Ride
Registration & Start Times (start as early as 6:30 a.m.)
80/101 mile must start by 8:00 a.m. or earlier.
25/46/64 mile must start by 10:00 a.m. or earlier.
All riders must be finished by 3:30 p.m.
Adult: $35.00 (or $27.00 before July 7) 

B. Community Bike Pathway Ride
[ 3/5/8 mile registration will be 9:45-11:45 a.m. ]

Fees
Adult: $35.00 (or $27.00 before July 7) 
(Registered children 12 & younger with paid adult are free.)

Additional Date Information
6:30 to 9:30 a.m. registration

Event details and schedule

 

 All ride routes are provided with rest stops and water stops, regardless of the length of the route chosen.  Bagels, fruit, beverages and a variety of other food options will be provided at rest stops. Our ride is easy to navigate with well-marked routes, route maps, and cue sheets. Friendly sag wagon drivers are knowledgeable about the route and bicycling.  Community vendors and food vendors will also be available following the ride.

      As a rider of the Biking with Beanzie event, you will be investing in our Community. BWB is a “family” event that promotes fitness and family fun. Profits from this ride go to support the Kishwaukee Bike Pathway Projects and other projects within DeKalb County.

     BWB is partnering with Live Healthy DeKalb County initiative to help promote a healthier lifestyle within DeKalb County.

Support: SAG (Support & Gear) wagon and rest stop support will be provided until 3:30 p.m.

It is the biker’s responsibility to be done with their chosen route and the high school facilities by 3:30 p.m. SAG driver phone numbers can be found on the route cue sheets provided at registration. 

Post Ride Activities
Includes access to the DHS showers, towels (for a nominal fee) and ice cold watermelon, other tasty treats.
