_ The 10th Annual Miles for Minds 5K:

Proceeds from the Miles for Minds 5K benefits the JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute’s Center for Brain Injuries at JFK Medical Center in   Edison, NJ.  The Center is nationally known as a pioneer in brain trauma evaluation and treatment. It was one of the first rehabilitation centers in the country to recognize that individuals who have sustained traumatic brain injuries or other   acquired neurological injuries, such as stroke or anoxia, require a specialized treatment environment with high-quality care provided by a team of medical and rehabilitation specialists.

Specifically designed for patients with brain injury, the Center for Brain Injuries offers     specialized rehabilitative services through all stages of recovery. The Center’s distinguished and seamless continuum of care includes the Brain Trauma Unit (BTU), Extended Recovery Unit (ERU) and the Cognitive Rehabilitation Department.

The Center's goal is to restore real-life skills to those with head injuries so that they may return to their families and community at the maximum level possible. With a strong record of clinical research, innovative treatment and   diagnostic methods, the Center for Head Injuries provides families with support, education and training as they navigate the road to recovery.
