Carnival on the Lake is the best day on the lake for kids all summer! On the big day, several docks around the lake magically transform into fun-filled carnival stops with endless activities which have been known to include: face painting, balloon artists, caricature artists, magicians, fishing lessons, slip n’ slides, dunk tanks, bounce houses and so much more! Yummy treats (scream for Sno-Cones and ice cream! AH!) and snacks can also be found along the way! Boat taxi service is available for those who need/want transportation from dock to dock. Or you can forgo the taxi and use your own vessel of choice to carry you through the best carnival on the Lake begins promptly at 11:00 am; however, please be sure to begin your day at Missouri Yacht Club between 10:00 am – 11:00 am to pick or register day of.

Here we will be providing you with the children’s wristbands needed for participation and Maps. (PSSST! You can do day-of registration here if you have not already registered online! :) )

This is also where you will find the provided lifejackets [if needed] and your boat taxi [if needed]. Once you have all of your goodies you can jet off to begin your fun-filled day!

Registration will open April 15th 2018. We have several ways to register: 1.] You can find online registration here: www.lotawanaoptimist.com 2.] You can come see us at Canoe Club on 19th of June from 6 to 8pm during our registration party! 3.] You can register the day of the event at Missouri Yacht Club between 10:00 am – 11:00 am **Important note!

Please keep in mind that there is a waiver involved in the registration process that is to be signed by a parent or legal guardian ONLY; however, on the day of the carnival it will be adequate for children/participants to be in the care of whomever you choose as long as they are accompanied by an adult.** Carnival on the Lake is presented by the Lake Lotawana Happy Hour Optimist Club. It is our most fun (and let’s be honest, our favorite) FUNdraiser! All of the money raised at the carnival will find its way right back into our very own community. LL Happy Hour Optimist Club is dedicated to “bringing out the best in kids.” Our Club is one among thousands all over the world that work through community service programs and projects to react to the needs in the community. Optimist programs, as a whole, conduct 65,000 community service projects each year, spending $78 million in their communities. Annually, 6 million kids are positively affected by Optimist programs. Our mission is to provide hope and positive vision to bring out the best in youth, our communities and ourselves. To aid and encourage the development of youth, in the belief that the giving of one’s self in service to others will advance the well-being of humankind, community life and the world.

Since the start of LL Happy Hour Optimist Club in 2014 we have succeeded in: - Annually helping eight children during Christmas [they receive a want, a need, a wear and a read, and more!] - Provided the Keep them SAFE Awareness Class at a discounted rate for the children in our community and offered free classes for families with financial strains - Brought the old fashioned circus to town for all to enjoy! - Raised funds to help the Baseball Association with maintenance, fees, etc. - Annually hosting a golf tournament benefiting HOPE Dental [a non-profit offering free services to children and geriatrics] - New in 2016, we brought back the Lake Lotawana Memorial Cancer Walk benefiting Gilda’s Club of KC [non-profit offering support to families of cancer victims] - And so much more! Thank you SO much to all who help make this happen every year! We are so lucky to have such lovely, wonderful, incredible, amazing (we could go on… :) ) dock hosts, sponsors, contributors, volunteers and an extremely supportive community! We could not do it without you!
