Become one with nature during this unique trail run near downtown Phoenix, Arizona! Maybe you’ll catch a glimpse of one of the Burrowing Owls being reintroduced or one of many other neat creatures the salt river has to offer you as you work your way through the Rio Salado Habitat Restoration area. Now that’s cool!
What’s even cooler, you’ll know you’re supporting the continuous revegetation efforts of the Rio Salado Habitat, which helps the Rio Salado Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary and more. So, year after year you can take pride as you run or walk this unique habitat and watch the changes happening knowing you have a hand in helping to protect and improve it.
Courses wind up and down, along and across, the Rio Salado Salt River and its banks. Choose from the chip-timed 15K, 10K or 5K, and you’ll find yourself running or walking a challenging and fun mixed terrain looping course with varying elevations.
