_ The 3rd Annual Recycle Yourself 5K:

Welcome to the 3rd Annual Recycle Yourself 5K! It will take place on Saturday April 21, 2018!

In January of 2013, The Theurer family suffered a tragic loss. Their son, brother, nephew and grandson, Kevin, 20, passed away after a car accident. They made the choice of donating Kevin's organs. Through that decision many lives were saved.

On September 3rd, 2015, The Torstenson family received a phone call that they waited 6 years to get; there was a donor kidney for Tyler. Because of that donation, Tyler received the gift of life on September 4th, 2015.

We want to bring awareness to the community about how important being an organ donor is. Two families in the Dickinson community have been impacted differently by organ donation. By coming together we believe we can make a difference.

The money raised by the 5K will be given to LifeSource (www.life-source.org) and to purchase gift cards to be given to transplant recipient families for expenses during their stays in the hospital.

April is National Donate Life Month. National Donate Life Month is a time set aside to honor the generous gifts or organ and tissue donation. It's also the perfect time to register as an organ and tissue donor and to encourage your friends and family to do the same. Friday, April 13, 2018 is Donate Life Blue and Green Day. By wearing Blue and Green on this day you are showing your support for organ, eye and tissue donation.

To continue the celebration, we encourage you to dress in the colors of BLUE and GREEN the day of the 5K. Make it simple or make it crazy! Have fun with it.

Please join us for the 3rd Annual Recycle Yourself 5K! Last year we had over 180 people at our event and we would like to see even more.

Please register on here by April 13 to be guaranteed get a race shirt and goodie bag. This year you can pick between a short or long sleeve shirt. After April 13, shirts are limited to sizes and sleeve length.

**If your child is 3 years old or under on the day of the event, you do not need to register them, unless you want a t-shirt for them. Strollers, bikes, roller blades or skates and dogs on leashes are more than welcome.

Check in or to regsiter the day of starts at 9:00 AM

Jumping Castle will be there at 9:00 AM for the kids until the race starts

Runners will take off at 11 AM, walkers right after
