_ The 2018 USA Triathlon Splash & Dash Youth Aquathlon at the Simon Family JCC:
The Simon Family JCC in Virginia Beach is the local regional host for the USA Triathlon Youth Aquathlon Splash & Dash for kids ages 7-15, which is a sports event that combines swimming and running. Ages 7-10 have a 100-meter swim and 1-mile run, and ages 11-15 have a 200-meter swim and 2-mile run, all to be held on the sprawling JCC campus. This is a fantastic combination event for all skill levels that promotes fitness and fun. Registration includes an event shirt, finisher medal, and USAT youth one-year membership. There will be live music and vendors at teh finish line. Just register via the online link, and come have a great time at the JCC!
Event details and schedule
The USAT Youth Aquathlon Splash & Dash will begin at 1:00pm and finish at 4:00pm. Since this is an untimed event, starting positions and times will be based on a first come, first served basis.
Parking will be clearly visible and marked at the JCC.
The Splash & Dash will be held entirely on the JCC campus, utilizing the outdoor and outdoor chlorine pools, and the run course will be a combination of grass and paved surfaces.
Initial check-in will be within the JCC main entrance. Have your online registration, payment, and waiver completed before checking-in. Bring your swim suit, towel, running clothes and shoes, and any other materials that you may need (ear buds, water bottle, etc). The event t-shirt and finisher medal will be distributed at the finish line. Participants do not have to complete the entire event, but they must come to the finish line to recieve these two items.
After completing check-in, participants will go through the JCC rear doors to the pools. Once dresed in swim suit (there are bathrooms on the pool deck that can be used for changing clothes), each participant will go to West end (deep end) of the pool and start the swimming leg of the event. Upon completion of the swimming leg, participants will dry, put on their running shoes and clothes, and then proceded through the pool gate onto the running course. The course will measure one mile. Those participants that are running the 2-mile leg will repeat the course a second time.
