_ The 2018 A Hero's 5K:
A Hero’s 5k was founded in 2010 and is a 5k walk/run held annually in February at Furman University to remember all of the soldiers who fought, died, and lived for our great country.
Packet Pickup
Packet pickup will be held Friday, March 23rd, at Upstate Warrior Solution (3 Caledon Court, Suite A-3) from 10am – 6pm. If you cannot meet us there, you may pick up your t-shirt packet at the Furman Amphitheater from 7:30am – 8:20am race day March 24th.
PLEASE NOTE: IN ORDER TO BE GUARANTEED A T-SHIRT, YOU MUST REGISTER PRIOR TO MONDAY, March 1st, 2018.
A Hero’s 5K, Inc. was founded to raise awareness of the sacrifices made each day by the United States military personnel and to raise money to support the needs of South Carolina servicemen and women and their families. A Hero’s 5K walk/run is held annually at Furman University in memory of SPC. Geoffrey Whitsitt who was killed in action on January 13, 2010. A Hero’s 5K has grown into an organization of dedicated volunteer staff and it provides a vehicle to a world-wide community allowing them to be part of that loving care – reaching out to help other hurting military veterans and their families.
A Hero’s 5K is a 501(c)3 organization. For more information about A Hero’s 5K, Inc.

What organization are the proceeds going to?
All proceeds of the 2017 A Hero’s 5K will go to Upstate Warrior Solution (UWS). UWS is a community-based non-profit organization in the Upstate of South Carolina that connects warriors and their families to the resources they need, and guides them through the process of developing realistic solutions for a variety of areas of their lives (upstatewarriorsolution.org). Last year, over $10,000 was raised for UWS!

What is the Leimbach Kids Fun Zone?
The Leimbach Kids Fun Zone exists in Memory of SGT. David Leimbach. The Zone features face painting, educational information about Gold Star families, and it provides an opportunity for you child to send a letter or picture to Upstate Veterans.
When does the Leimbach Kids Fun Run begin?
The Leimbach Kids Fun Run begins at 9:10. There is no charge for the Fun Run, but please make sure to register your children by clicking here.
Can I bring a stroller?
Your little ones are welcome to join you on the route. Just be aware of walkers and runners and stay closer to back of start to allow runners ample room.
Can my dog walk with me?
Furman is a pet-friendly campus! Feel free to bring along your furry one, but please be mindful of other runners and be sure to clean up after your pet.
