The Swim: participants will have 10 minutes to swim as far as they can. There will be two persons per lanes, the lanes will be split (NO circle swimming). You can do any stroke you like - back stroke, breast stroke, freestyle, just so long as you do to interfere with the other participant in your lane. If when the 10 minute time has passed and you have gone at least half a lap you will get credit for the full lap. So 21.5 lengths and you will be given credit for 22 lengths. Wetsuits or thong swimsuits are not allowed. Swimming aids are also not allowed.
The Bike: participants are set up on traditional spin bikes which have been outfitted with their own computers which will record rpm's and distance only. There is no extra credit for adding resistance to your bike.
The Run: participants will have 10 minutes to run as far as they can on the treadmill. Again, there is no extra credit for incline, it is a matter of simply who runs the farthest.
The Transitions: Unlike and outdoor triathlon, the transitions are not counted toward your over-all score. You will have ample time, between 10 - 15 minutes to get from one discipline to the other based on the facility layout. We do not want competitors running through the facility to get the the next event for fear of injuring themselves or others.
All of the disciples will be monitored and supervised by a staff of race day volunteers. The volunteers will direct you and counts your swim laps and monitor the competitors throughout the race.
Music wil be provided in the spin room but competitors are welcome to bring their own personal music devices. Participants rare also welcome to bring their own nutrition and hydration.
We will start heats of 6 competitors off every 15 minutes. You will have the options of registering for either a 9am, 10am, or 11am starting block. The first ones to show up for each starting block will go first. In total competitors can expect the race to last approximately 90 minutes: 10 swim, 30 bike, 20, run and two 15 minute transitions.
