_ The 2018 Bighorn Trail Run:
Located in the beautiful Bighorn Mountains just outside of Dayton, WY, we offer 4 distances over 2 days.
This year is the 25th annual Bighorn Mountain Wild and Scenic Trail Runs. The Bighorn Trail 100 will be held June 15, 2018 at 10:00am. The 52M, 32M and 18M races will be the following day, June 16, 2018. The runs largely continue at this time as a public service by trail running enthusiasts and volunteers in the Sheridan community to promote recreation and tourism in Sheridan County. The courses are designed to maximize the exposure of the participants, their families, and race volunteers to an extremely scenic, wild, and primitive area of our geologically unique Bighorn Mountains.
The Bighorn Trail 100 Mile Endurance Run is in its 15th year. Although it is a very difficult course, it has been a great success and participants have encouraged its continuation. This race is extremely challenging due to the rugged terrain of the Bighorn Mountains, and has become a favorite among avid trail runners. The course, an out-and-back, is at elevations of up to 10,000 feet, among fields of wildflowers and breathtaking scenery. The majority of the course is on rugged mountain trails and 4-wheel drive roads.
