2011 Cannonsville Adventure Triathlon:
- The Inaugural Cannonsville Adventure Triathlon has been cancelled.
- This is a challenging 6.5 mile run, 4 mile paddle, 12 mile bike.
- The race will be set against the pristine waters of the Cannonsville Reservoir, part of the New York City water supply system in the western Catskill Mountains in Delaware County, NY.
- So mark you calendars for Sunday June 5th - pre race meeting at 8am in Deposit.
- Race start time 10am.
- Race ends in Hancock with awards, food and festivities.
- Awards for categories (individual or team; male/female/mixed; age group; kayak or canoe and regular or pro length).
Course Information:
6.5 mile run; 4 mile paddle; 12 mile bike:
- Flat on road run along the reservoir.
- Paddle on flat water with slight current depending o breeze.
- Uphill start to bike leg with long downhill.
- Finish in the village on Main Street.
Directions:
- State Hwy 17 / Interstate 86 to Hancock, NY.
- Racers will be shuttled from the village out to the race start area on State Hwy 10.
- Race ends in the village of Hancock on Main Street.

- In order to race, participants must have a NYC DEP Access Permit which is free and easy to obtain online.
- This allows them access to the reservoir lands and water.
- Access Permit number is required to register for the race.
- They must also get their boat steam cleaned.
- There are certified boat cleaners on the website with race info.
- All boats must be cleaned at least the day prior to the race and stored at the transition area.
- Security will be provided for the boats.
