_ The 2018 Big Chill Adventure Race:
The “Chill” is the race that started it all. This year we are heading to Fort Parker State Park near Mexia, TX and boy are we stoked! This area of Texas is rich with history and we are excited to take advantage! We’ll serve up all new stuff as well as some old favorites. Expect a tough as nails race, awesome shwagg, cool special tests and more. Back to the ‘Chill’ this year is Too Cool’s famous “skip point”. Teams that bring in 5 canned goods per racer are permitted to skip a checkpoint during the race. Donations directly benefit the local community. The race will happen rain, snow, or shine, so be prepared for any type of weather. Race headquarters will be based at the group picnic area on Fort Parker Lake. Choose the 2-4 hr sport sprint or 4-8 hr adventure sprint.
Adventure Sprint Race
Teams of 2 or 3 will receive trail maps and most checkpoints at the start of race. This year’s course will include paddling, mountain biking on roads, jeep trails and single track, Too Cool Gravel Grinder, O leg section (pre plotted topo map) & special challenges.
Sport Sprint Race
Teams of 2 or 3 will run, bike, paddle and face team challenges and decisions along the way. This course is designed for the beginner in mind! Too Cool will be providing the boats, racers just need to have a bike, helmet, and a camelback.
The park is located seven miles south of Mexia or six miles north of Groesbeck on State Highway 14; the entrance is on Park Road 28.
