Break out of your usual workout routine and fill your morning with 60 minutes of swim, bike and run in the indoor TRI to Stay Warm USATri60 event Sunday, February 11th at the brand new Brooks Family YMCA in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Waves starting at 7:30 a.m., participants will complete 10 minutes of swimming, 30 minutes of cycling on stationary bikes and 20 minutes of running or walking on a treadmill -- all indoors at the Brooks Family YMCA. This new event is perfect for beginners and experienced triathletes ages 15 and up.
This Indoor Triathlon to include a USAT Goodie bag, a finisher t-shirt, swim cap, swim goggles, drawstring bag and a finisher medal.
Awards by 11:30am. In the spirit of TRI-ing to stay warm this winter, a tropical theme and awards given to top 3 most "tropical" gym wear.
Course information:
Pool Swim: 10 minutes
Stationary Bike: 30 minutes
Treadmill Run: 20 minutes
The event in its entirety is held in the Brooks Family YMCA as a USAT sanctioned event. The swim takes place in the Brooks YMCA pool, which includes ten, 25-yard lanes. Participants will have 10 minutes to transition to the stationary bikes, located in the cycling studio, where they will complete the bike portion. Participants will have 10 minutes thereafter to move to the central fitness area where the treadmills are located to complete the run portion on treadmills.
Volunteers will be there to show you where to go next! This will be FUN!
Waves
Heats will consist of 20 participants starting every 15minutes with overall male and female winner, top three male and female "Tropical wear". Every finisher gets a medal!!!
First wave: 7:30am
Last wave: 9:45am
