_ The 2018 MCBH Keiki (Kids) Tradewind Triathlon - (Saturday):

Race will start at 0630 on Saturday, August 25 2018

This exciting children's only triathlon will consist of 2 age divisions:  7 to 10 year olds will start with a 100-meter open water swim, followed by a 3-mile bike ride and finish with a 0.8 mile run.  11-14 year olds will start with a 200-meter open water swim, followed by a 6-mile bike ride and finish with a 1.2 mile run, ending at Hangar 101.  This race is open to the general public.

All civilans (Non DoD) MUST register by August 12.

Packet Pick-up: Packet pickup for Civilians, Dependants, DoD employees, Active Duty and Retirees will be held at the Front Gate pass house of MCBH on Thursday, August 23 from 1:00pm to 6:00pm and on Friday, August 24 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm for DoD employees, Active Duty, Dependants and Retirees at the Semper Fit Center. (Main gym) Packets may also be picked up the morning of the race beginning at 5:00am. All civilian participants will receive a special event pass. 

T-Shirts: Shirts are not guaranteed if you register after August 16, 2018. 

Entry Fees: Individual: $25.00

Late Fees: After August 16, 2018 additional $10.00. 

Online Registration will close on Tuesday, August 21 2018 at 11:59 pm

Check in and Safety Inspections: Check-in begins at 0500 at the Hangar 101 pad. The safety brief will take place at 0615. Helmets must be worn at all times while on the bikes. Bike inspections will be available prior to the race. 

Swim portion: The swim portion will take place in the open water in Kaneohe Bay. It is highly encouraged that all children are comfortable swimming in open water on their own. There will be numerous lifeguards along the course to assist as needed. The water will be deep and children will not be able to touch bottom in all areas. Goggles are allowed. Snorkels, water wings or fins are not allowed. 

Awards:  Each child participant will receive a participation award.
