PMRF Barking Sands and MWR Fitness & Aquatics will be hosting a Mini Triathlon that is open to participants island wide. The PMRF Mini Sprint Triathlon is a short distance triathlon, ideal for those competitors who are new to the sport. Participants must be able to complete course requirements to participate. PMRF Gates will open @ 0700
A valid Government issued ID is required to access the PMRF Naval Base. Individuals ages 18 and over without base access (non-PMRF personnel) must complete and submit a SECNAV form to gain unescorted entry onto base. Forms will be emailed to participants and must be submitted no later than 1200 on Wednesday, April 12, 2017. SECNAV form approval does not grant individual base sponsorship privileges. Each individual 18 years and older who needs access to the base for the event must complete and submit a SECNAV form.
*NOTE: Failure to submit SECNAV forms on time and/or if an individual's SECNAV form is not approved, base access will be denied.
Event parking will be available at the MWR Movie House, & MWR Fitness Center
Event Check-in will be from 0700-0930.
Participants will be designated to their registered category, depending on their age bracket. Each category will begin at their scheduled times. Waves of 5 participants will be conducted approximately every 5 minutes. Triathletes will be assigned a number according to their designated category. Triathletes must compete during their scheduled time slots. If a triathlete misses his or her scheduled time slot, they will not be allowed to transfer time slots and will forfeit their right to participate in the event.

Category: Ages 7-9 year (100 yard swim, 3 mile bike, 1 mile run)
Category: Ages 10-13 years (140 yard swim, 3 mile bike, 1 mile run)
Category: Ages 14-17 years (200 yard swim, 3 mile bike, 1 mile run)
Category: Adult - 18+ years (280 yard swim, 3 mile bike, 1 mile run)
Category: Family Fun team (60 yard swim, 3 mile bike, 1 mile run)
-Team must consist of at least 1 adult and 1 child
