The Universal Sole No Frills Spring Trail Challenge

Trail running has always been in our USOLE DNA! We were the first running store in Chicago to bring trail racing to the Chicago running community. We are thrilled to continue our 2017 Trail Series with the USOLE Spring "No Frills" Trail Challenge! Just in time to start to enjoy the cooler weather in the Cook County Forest Preserves @ Wolf Road Woods in the Palos Trail System! Our trail courses run through undulating terrain with rocks, roots & some short hills! You don’t need to be a trail veteran to come out and enjoy these great grass roots events! The USOLE Trail Challenge is great for people of all ages and all abilities looking to change up the running routine and get “off” the roads! Join us!

Event details and schedule

Trail Race Location:

April 22nd, 2017 - This will be a short and sweet trail race utilizing a great 5k loop course! It will be a great intro race for those folks just getting the feet wet (figure of speech) with trail but also have tons of funs for those longing for some off-road fun. This will be an easy 5k (or so) loop. Come out and try some trail!

Race Details:

• Everyone that registers will receive the custom USOLE Trail Challenge Draw Sting Back Pack! Great for easy gear transport to and from the trails!
  
• Courses will be trail & off road with crushed limestone, dirt, rocks, & roots.
• Races will begin promptly @ 9am! Race day pickup & registration will begin @ 7:30am
• If you are registering day of the race, the entry is $30 and can be paid by cash or credit card only.
• Water and NUUN Hydration Drink at the Start/finish line.
• Clif Bars & Bananas will be at the finish.
• Race day gear check will be at the Universal Sole Tents
• Parking Info: Plenty of parking in the forest preserve parking lots!

• Top Overall Winner for Male & Female
• Age Group M&F Awards: 14 & Under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+
• Post race raffle with great prizes from Universal Sole & all of our sponsors to be held at our post race party on-site!

Packet Pick-up: Packet pick-up will be available on race day. Pre-race packet pick-up will be held at Universal Sole in Chicago (3052 N. Lincoln Ave.) at the following times:
-Thursday, April 20th from 12pm-8pm
-Friday, April 21st from 12pm-7pm

Post Race Brews: Once the races are over, brews for everyone! If the weather permits, it can be nice to hang out in the forest preserve and enjoy nature! This is spring time and it is time to celebrate the trails and getting “off” the roads!
