Springbrook Sprint Triathlon :
Triathlon : Swim 200 Yards, Bike 9.5 Miles, Run 3 Miles

2011 Springbrook Sprint Triathlon:

Super popular beginner race, drawing close to 400 participants annually.

A short 200 yard pool swim, flat 15k bike and scenic 3 mile run in Springbrook Park make this race fast and exciting.

Proceeds go to The Alcoa School Foundation.

Course Information:

Swim Leg

Swim is 200 yards.

Individual Time Trial Start approx. each 3 seconds based on time (fastest first).

We will line up in number order initially. We will allow re-seed prior to start.

Each person is to step into the pool in lane one and swim the length of the pool, duck under the lane lines and swim lane two and so on until you have completed 8 lengths of the pool.

Bike Leg

BIKE is 15K.

Bike racks are numbered.

Place your bike & gear on the row marked with your number.

Hard shell helmets are required at ALL times - even during warm-up!

All competitors will be going through the entire transition area.

NO RIDING IN THE TRANSITION AREA.

Bike will be mounted and dismounted in parking lot.

Course is open to traffic.

Relay bikes will be in a separate area.

Please review bike course map prior to the race.

Run Leg

RUN is 5K.

RUNNERS MUST WEAR RACE NUMBER ON FRONT.

Exit transition area & STAY FAR RIGHT.

Runners must cross timing mat in parking lot at beginning of run.

Follow run course per map to finish in front of John Sevier Pool.

Water and Gatorade at aid station at approx. mile 1 and 2.

Directions:

The Springbrook Sprint Triathlon is held at the Springbrook Pool located at Faraday and Voss in Alcoa, TN.

Take I-140 (Pellissippi Pkwy) to 129 (Alcoa Hwy)

Go .9 miles toward Airport and take L on North Wright Rd (between Shoneys and Exxon).

Go 1.5 miles (through 2 traffic lights) and turn R on Darwin.

Go .3 mi and take L into First United Methodist Church parking lot.

Springbrook pool is across the street from the church.

Do not park near transition area.
