- Dubuque’s first Sprint Triathlon will take place on the Heritage Trail which is managed by Dubuque County Conservation Board. The scenic course will start with a dip in Heritage Pond, bike the windy, rolling hills along county paved roads, and run along the flat limestone Heritage Trail. The race will start and end at the Heritage Trail parking lot. The Heritage Trail once was a bustling railroad that traveled through old mining and mill towns.
All proceeds from the run will benefit the Friends of Dubuque County Conservation who help support Dubuque County parks and environmental education!
Registration
Individual Registration .................................$40
Late Registration (After June 15th) ................$50
Team Registration .........................................$90
Team Late Registration (After June 15th)....... $100
* Early registration guarantees a t-shirt.
*Entry Fees are non-refundable Sorry, NO exceptions. However bib transfers are allowed.
*Registration closes July 8th.
*Athletes are able to do the race as an individual, or in 2-3 person team.
Triathlon start time: 9:00 am
Medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places
Drawings for prizes
Rules
Timing chips will be used
Helmets are required for the bike portion of this event
No outside assistance allowed during the race
Course
Swim length ................................400 yard
Bike length .......................................14 miles
Run length ..........................................3.1 miles
Event Cancellation
If the swim portion of the race is cancelled due to inclement weather (i.e. heavy rain, lightning) or unsafe water conditions, the event will be duathlon, with run-bike-run. Please check the Heritage Trail Dubuque Facebook page on race day for updates if you suspect delays or cancellation.
Volunteers
We need motivated volunteers to put on a memorable race! Please contact us if you are interested in volunteering!

The eastern trailhead, Heritage Pond, and Trail Interpretive Area are located 3 miles north of Dubuque on US 52 at Rupp Hollow Road.
