2011 South Shore Triathlon at Oneida Shores Park:

Oneida Shores Park is a County Park on the southern shore of Oneida Lake.

Oneida Lake is the largest lake entirely within New York State.

The lake is located north of Syracuse and near the Great Lakes. Oneida Lake is a remnant of a large prehistoric lake formed when glaciers blocked the current outlet of the Great Lakes, the St. Lawrence River.

Today, it empties into the Oneida River which flows into the Oswego River which in turn flows into Lake Ontario.

Oneida Lake has become a popular summer boating destination, thanks to its shallow water and sandy bottom. Oneida Shores Park is known mainly for its large beach.

Course Information:

The South Shore Triathlon at Oneida Shores Park takes athletes through the most beautiful and scenic views Central New York has to offer.

This race is open to both men and women and is beginner friendly yet challenging to the experienced tri-athlete.
