2011 Patriot Triathlon:
Course Information:
Swim:
Pool swim - 8 lanes, 25 yard each - serpentine swim 2 lengths in each lane. Swim will be seeded fastest to slowest start.
Bike:
15 miles on moderately hilly terrain. Course is on paved roads that are not closed to traffic. However - there will be police & volunteer support at all major intersections. There are no aid stations on the bike course but there will be a sag wagon driving the course.
Run:
5 K (3.1 miles) - either downhill or uphill on the entire course - no flat. The run is half on pavement and half cross country on dirt/sandy road. There will be one aid station approximately 1.5 miles into the run.
Directions:
From Albuquerque - Coors Bypass (by the Cottonwoomd Mall): Take Hwy 528 up the hill into Rio Rancho. Go to High Resort Blvd, turn west (left). Go to 2nd stop light - Broadmoor, turn north (right). Turn RIght on Loma Colorado - follow the road as it curved back around to the north - the Aquatic Center is on the west side of the street.
From Bernalillo and towns north: Take Hwy 550 north from Bernalillo. Turn south (left) onto Hwy 528. Go 5+ miles to Northern Blvd, turn west (right). Go to Loma Colorado, turn south (left). Follow the road past the second round-about, then take your first right into the AC Parking lot.
