2011 Salem YMCA Sprint Triathlon:

  • The Salem Family YMCA proudly presents their 1st annual Sprint Triathlon.
  • Located just south of Roanoke in Salem, VA this race is easy to get to from anywhere in the Shenandoah Valley.
  • Swim 300 Meter, Bike 15K, Run 5K: pool swim, scenic rolling bike course, run on a mixture of roads & sidewalks.
  • All of this is followed up with great post race food and an awards ceremony.
  • This event is brought to you by the same great folks that put on the Big Lick Triatlhon at Smith Mountain Lake in the fall so you know it will be a great event!

    • Course Information:

    Swim 300 Meter, Bike 15K, Run 5K:

  • The race begins with a 300 yard snake swim.
  • After a short run to T1 begins a rolling 15K bike course.
  • After taking in the scenery on the bike athletes will get to explore Salem with a 5K run on a mixture of roads and sidewalks.

  • Salem is located slightly west of Roanoke and just off I-81.
