2010 XTERRA Whitewater Offroad Triathlon:

This race touts the most unique swim of the XTERRA America Tour.  During XTERRA Whitewater, you will swim two bodies of water with an island traversing-run in-between.  At this race, even the swim is off-road.

After your swim, you will mountain bike approximately 16 miles (two 8 mile laps) on the beautiful, yet tough, trails along the Cawtaba River.  If you don't get enough of the scenery from your bike, don't worry, because you will head back out on the trails for a 5 mile run.  Course info.

Relay Teams!!  Don't want to tackle all three distances alone?  Then grab two of your friends and form a 3-person relay team!  One person does the swim, another does the bike and the last does the run.

Divisions
  • Age Groups: 5-year age groups beginning with 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, etc. and ending with 70+ for male and female individuals.
  • Challenged Athlete Division (CA).
  • Relay Team Division (three-person)
  • Clydesdale (men over 200 lbs) and Athena (women over 150 lbs) Divisions.

(FYI: XTERRA does not recognize the Clydesdale, Athena or Relay Team divisions for the XTERRA American Tour and associated points.  Instead, age group divisions will be used for points in the Clydesdale and Athena divisions.  Relay Team divisions are not reported for XTERRA points.  See how it works.)

How the XTERRA Points Series Works
This race is part of the XTERRA America Tour and offers the chance to race your way to nationals. Ogden, Utah will be the battleground for an exclusive field - the best age group athletes from each of XTERRA's eight regions. At the end of the race, newly crowned national champions will take the podium, and you could be one of them.

To find out if you've got what it takes to be a champion, read how it works.

Course Information:

Transition Area:
Just north of the whitewater holding pond (near ramp for the pond).  First come, first serve.

Swim:
550 meters in the Catawba River followed by a 500 meter run then another 200 meters in the whitewater holding pond.  The swim across the lower holding pond is a straight line and is 200 meters.

A second pair of shoes is recommended for use between the two swims.  You can stage the shoes at the exit of the Catawba and remove them before entering the whitewater holding pond.  We will recover the shoes and have them at the transition area following the race.  If you do not reclaim the shoes, they will be donated to charity.
