The Wellfleet Sprint Triathlon (formally the Lower Cape Sprint Triathlon) is picturesque, challenging -- and fun! A 1/4-mile swim in the clear waters of a Cape Cod "kettle pond"; a 10-mile bike through the rolling hills of the Cape Cod National Seashore; and a 3-mile run past the famed Beachcomber restuarant and back. The paved bike/run course, traversing a natural pine forest, will be closed to vehicular traffic. The race benefits non-profit radio station WOMR 92.1FM and the Wellfleet Montessori Pre-School. This is a USA Triathlon sanctioned event with USAT certified Race Director.
Directions:
Take Route 6 to the traffic light at Gross Hill Rd, on your right. You'll see the Wellfleet fire station. Stay to the right of the immediate fork that puts you onto Lawrence Road, keeping the fire station on your right. The Wellfleet Elementary School is around the bend. Park there. Ride your bike to transition (spectators and relay teams can take the Funk Bus).
