About This Activity:
This is a great race to gauge your fitness level or transition from a sprint and half distance race. The swim is atwo loop, 500 meter, down river swim in depths no greaterthan six feet. Duathletes start with a two-mile run. The bike route is smooth and flat, and the run route will take you along the scenic Phenix City Riverwalk and into historic Columbus.

We are very excited that you will be racing with us this year. Below you will find information that will make your race day as stress free as possible!

Packet Pick Up:
Is located at Ride On Bikes at 1036 Broadway Columbus, GA 31901. Packets may be picked up Friday from 4-7pm or Saturday at transition from 530am-6:45am.

All athletes MUST bring all of the following to Packet Pick Up:
1. Government issue valid photo ID
2. Valid USAT card (if a member)

**All members of relay teams must either be a USAT member or purchase a one-day membership at packet pick up.

USAT Rules and Regulations:
The TriColumbusGA Chattahoochee Challenge Race Series is sanctioned by USA Triathlon. This means that all participants will need to be either an annual member of USAT or procure a one-day membership and sign a waiver. One day memberships for 2016 are $15 (adult) $10 (child) which can be purchased during registration. If you registered online and paid the USAT fee, it will be noted on the forms at packet pick up.

Bike Check In:
Bikes will be checked in race morning only.

Nutrition:
Run: There will be 3 aid stations on the course. You will see each of these aid stations 2x -water and Cerasport will be provided.

Transition:
Transition Area is located behind the Trade Center on the North side of the Dillingham street bridge. The Columbus Trade Center is located at 801 Front Avenue Columbus, GA 31901-2714.

Course Information:


Start Time:
We will be starting the race at 7:30am.

Swim Course:
The swim course is two loops. Each loop is 500m DOWNSTREAM. Buoys will be set up on along the course. We ask that you keep buoys on your RIGHT at all times. The river depths are approximately 4-6 ft in depth. The closer to shore, the more shallow the water. Athletes will swim the first loop, exit the water and run/walk to the swim start for their second loop. For those with sensitive feet, we have rolled out the carpet for you and have a lane marked. Sorry, the carpet is green, not red. You are welcome to warm up in the water prior, north of the swim start.

Swim Waves:
Athletes will start the swim portion of the race from a dock off the stairs at the swim start. (Woodruff Park)

Swim Waves are as follows:
7:30am-Men 50 over
7:33- Women 35 and over and all 19 and under
7:36- Men 40-44
7:39- Men 45-49
7:42 Women 34 and under
7:45 Men 30-39
7:48 Men 20-29
7:50 All Relays

Waves are subject to change based on registration numbers.
Please be at the swim start at 7:10am.

Pre Swim and Wetsuits:
The swim is NOT wetsuit legal.
Water temperatures are currently hovering around 82-83 degrees.

Duathlon Run #1
Duathletes will start 7:45am from Woodruff Park (directlyabove the swim start) for their 2 mile run.

Bike Course:
The two loop bike course is as follows
The bike course will begin and end on the Columbus Riverwalk. Race in Progress signs will be posted along this stretch and entrances will be blocked. The the Riverwalk will be CLOSED to pedestrian traffic this year.
We will have a lead vehicle will clear any traffic. It is imperative for your safety that when volunteers signal for you to slow down you do so. In addition, please abide by the florescent orange on the ground signaling riders to SLOW and all volunteers.
Please be mindful that the City of Columbus and Fort Benning are graciously allowing us to use their property. Keep all your trash with you. Police and volunteers will be located on the course at critical intersections for your safety.
Technical support will be on the course to assist with emergency repairs whenever possible; but athletes are expected to be able to handle basic repairs (changing a flat, basic adjustments, etc) themselves. Please be self-sufficient.
USAT officials will also be on the course to enforce USAT rules and regulations.

Run Course:
The run course is very flat 1-loop course. An aid stations is located approximately 200 yds out of transition and at approximately 1-1.5 miles. Should family and friends wish to send their athlete a motivational message there will be sidewalk chalk available at transition/packet pick up.
