Grab your glow sticks and join us for Winona ORC's 4th Annual Starlight Stroll Run/Walk/Roll.
Winona’s only nighttime race! This 5k and 1 Mile race event will begin and end at East Lake Lodge in Winona. Start time is 6:05 p.m.
The Starlight Stroll is a unique fundraiser which will open the door for area runners, walkers and those with disabilities to join together in a healthy community activity. Wheelchair entries have the option of participating with or without assistance and are welcome in both distances. Experience Winona ORC's Starlight Stroll 5k and 1 Mile run, walk or roll (wheelchairs only), all at a single event.
The fun starts when the sun goes down!
Packet Pickup
Early: Thursday, November 3, 2016, Noon – 6 p.m.
Winona ORC, 1053 East Mark Street, Winona, MN 55987
Day of: Friday, November 4, 2016, 4 – 6 p.m.
Lake Lodge (Foot of Main Street), Winona, MN 55987
The Race
The race will begin at 5:45 p.m. for the 1 mile and 6 p.m. for those in wheelchairs. Runners/walkers will start the clock at 6:05 p.m. Instructions and other race-day information will be announced at 5:55 p.m. Please be in the starting area prior to announcements.
Safety
For your safety and the safety of others, we have implemented designated starting areas. The fastest runners will be in front with all other runners behind.
Electronic Timing
The Starlight Stroll will be utilizing electronic timing technology. A disposable timing chip is attached to your number. Your time does not start until you cross the start line. With the exception of the overall male and female, all official times will be based on chip time. The overall male and female times will be based on gun time.
Water Stop
Water will be provided on the course at approximately 1.5 miles.
Refreshments
Water, sports drinks and bananas for participants will be served in Lake Lodge after the race.
T-Shirts
T-Shirts may not be available for participants who register after October 23, 2014.
Results and Awards
Results will be posted as soon as possible. The award ceremony will begin at approximately 45 minutes after the race has started, inside Lake Lodge. Results will be posted on the Winona ORC Starlight Stroll website shortly after the race’s conclusion.
Weather
The race will be held rain or shine. In the instance of extremely dangerous weather such as lightning, the Starlight Stroll race committee, in cooperation with the City of Winona, will make a decision about the appropriate course of action. Listen to KAGE 95.3 for updates. Race entry fees are non-refundable.
