On Saturday, January 28, 2017, the Charlotte Harbor Community Redevelopment Agency and the Punta Gorda Community Redevelopment Agency join forces to bring together two waterfront communities while supporting the efforts of the Charlotte Harbor Environmental Center, a 501(c)(3) organization to provide environmental education programs for the area children.
What is it? Half Marathon, 13.1 mile longboard and 13.1 mile bike ride, plus 5K competitive run, a 5K walk and a 20 or 30 mile bike ride, which incorporates the mile long Gilchrist Bridge that spans Charlotte Harbor.
Where does it begin? Registration starts at 6:00 a.m. in Bayshore Live Oak Park, Charlotte Harbor.
What is the Route? All participants cross the Gilchrist Bridge to downtown Punta Gorda and circle back for a big finish at Bayshore Live Oak Park. ½ marathon route parallels the waterfront and traverses 3 parks and crosses 3 bridges.
What makes this event special? Two Community Redevelopment Agencies coming together to build awareness of the natural and cultural resources needed to support the health of Charlotte Harbor while promoting healthy life-style and healthy planet choices. Enjoy the sunrise and the activities on beautiful Charlotte Harbor while you network, promote your company, and support a great organization. Not-for-Profits participate for free!

All registered participants receive: Complimentary Pancake Breakfast provided by the Charlotte County Fire/EMS – MDA Committee. Tips will be accepted as donations to Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA); Hands Across The Harbor t-shirt (T-shirt not guaranteed if you procrastinate); Awards, Door Prizes, Chance to Getaway Vacation Package.
