_ The Last Man Standing Ultramarathon is a unique event with a new "race" starting every hour on the hour. There will be no male or female or age group awards, only the Last Man (athlete) Standing. The course will be a 4.2 mile trail loop with nice double track and some moderate elevation gain. It will be an easy loop to finish in under an hour for most people. At least for the first few times around! Racing starts at 12 noon on Saturday with a shotgun start. Men and women will complete the course at whatever pace they choose. Those that complete the course in under an hour will earn the right to continue. Next gun start is at 1pm. Same loop, same rules apply. We will continue with this pattern until there is only one athlete left. That athlete must be standing at the start alone for the next gun to be declared the Last Man Standing and be the winner. We will have medals for any athlete that completes a 50K, 50 Mile, 100K or 100 Mile distance. Each athlete that does not become the Last Man Standing will receive a LMS medal with a dubious NOT burned into it.
