2016 Columbia Triathlon:
• Welcome to the Columbia Triathlon, one of the most challenging and longest running triathlons in America. 2016 marks the 33rd year of this world-class event, a great tradition of the region and the sport. Triathletes from across the country and around the world converge on Howard County, MD for this widely acclaimed Olympic distance race that began in 1984 with 90 trailblazing athletes.
• In 2016, as we honor the tradition and history of the Columbia Triathlon, we also celebrate the evolution of it, with an updated modern look that ties the event strongly to the Columbia community, with the visual representation of the “People Tree”. At UCF Races, we’re proud to uphold the tradition of the Columbia Triathlon, not only for the many participants, but also for the community of Columbia, where our organization was founded. Along with a new look, this year we’re excited to introduce a Duathlon race to be held along with the Triathlon. Those interested in participating in a Run, Bike, Run now have the option to do so at Columbia, with a course offering a 2.2 Mile Run, 25 Mile Bike and 6.2 Mile Run.
