A Beautiful location for a Triathlon in Historic Gruene/New Braunfels Texas. This venue is located just north of San Antonio and is famous for the quaint Village and Gruene Hall where many Country Western stars got there start.
Swim in the Guadalupe River, Bike along the beautiful river and run around Gruene.
After the event take advantage of the discounts offered by Rockin R and spend the afternoon tubing or Kayaking.
USAT sanctioned event.
Swim: The 400 meter swim will be an out and back river swim. Deep water and marked with buoys and lane lines.
Run: The 3.4 mile run is a 1loop course on pavement in the City of Gruene.
Bike: The 13.4 mile bike course is an out & back course on lightly travelled roads. The Course is mainly on Country roads with gently rolling hills. There will be 5 Sheriff Deputies at intersections and main turns. Drafting is illegal and will not be tolerated. Be aware that the roads are open to traffic.
KAYAK TRI:
Kayak Triathlon: There are 2 divisions, Open ( bring your own ), Rockin R division ( You rent from Rockin R )
Bike the 13.4 mile out and bike course first, you will then run down to the river and paddle 1 Mile. You will then exit the river and run 3 miles to the finish line. If you bring your own gear you will be responsible for all transportation and pickup of equipment. You must pickup your kayak and equipment from exit point by 11:00am. If you signup for the Rockin R provided Equipment then Rockin R takes care of everything.
From Ih35 in New Braunfels, exit FM306 and head west, turn left on Hunter rd, right on Gruene rd and follow Gruene rd down the hill. Cross over the Guadalupe River and Rockin R is on the left.
