The swim begins and ends in smooth, sandy bottomed beaches and has an average water depth of about 10-feet. Though swimmers should stay clear of the rocky area to the side of the swim entrance. The water temperatures typically range in the mid-70s, and we have been a USAT wetsuit legal race each year.
Bike course:
The 12.5-mile bike course is also an out and back course that leaves from transition and heads south through Cocoa Beach and down coastal road A1A before returning northward up A1A and back into transition. It is an open road course, and there is a large amount of signage and police support on the course.

Nearly 1/3 of the 3.1 mile run course is along the cart path and through the quiet morning scenery of the Cocoa Beach Golf Course. The race goes on through a riverfront Cocoa Beach neighborhood before returning runners to the finish just steps away from the Banana River.
