2011 Historic McKinney Kiwanis Triathlon & 5K:

  • Do a race and do some good - come support the McKinney Kiwanis at the 2nd Annual Historic McKinney Kiwanis Triathlon and 5K, produced by Playtri Racing!
  • A fun early season race with a pool swim, surprisingly challenging bike, and slightly longer than usual run, this race is wonderful for first-timers and pros alike.
  • The course is well-marked, accurate, and staffed by friendly and helpful volunteers from the surrounding area - be prepared for lots of cheers as you hit this course!
  • And of course there will be plenty of food and drinks provided post-race for participating athletes, as well as the quality awards that you've come to expect from Playtri Racing.

    2011 Historic McKinney Kiwanis Triathlon Race Course:

    Sprint:     300 yard pool swim 13 mile bike 3.5 mile run 

    Course Notes:

    • The swim will be in a 25 yard indoor pool.
    • The bike is on country roads with rolling hills. Each major intersection will be traffic controlled.
    • The run course starts at McKinney High School & winds through new housing development north east of the high school, continuing through old McKinney, downtown square and end at Towne Lake.
    • Aid stations will be located approximately every 1 mile. Each aid station is equipped with water and Gatorade.

  • Average temperature on race day: low 75 - high 95.
  • There will also be a kids triathlon on saturday april 30, 2011.
