In its 12th year, Tuscaloosa's Hot Hundred again stages at the University of Alabama Rec Center outdoor pool area. Distances offered are 29,36,52,71, and 103 miles. 6 Rest Stops and 7 SAG vehicles along with Tuscaloosa Police, County Sheriffs, and State Patrol Officers will support riders along the way. A Friday night Pre-Registration Party gives you the opportunity to pick up your goody bags and grab a bite to eat. You can also register early Saturday morning before the start of your ride through campus, passing Denny Chimes and Bryant Denny Stadium. The first 15 miles are nice and flat and then you get into some climbs, but on very lightly traveled roads. Post ride lunch will set up by 11:00, so plan to enjoy a shower, good eats, and a swim after your ride. Bring the family to enjoy the pool while you're pedaling!
The Hot Hundred will be the 5th of 10 events across the state in the Alabama Backroads Century Series. As you complete each century option in these events you receive a hefty, very collectible medal.
